CTI Tracker Acceptable Use Guidance
The following guidance is non-binding and is intended to establish community norms and data-use behaviors that promote the mission and function of the Contraceptive Technology Innovation (CTI) Exchange.
Tool Definition
The CTI Tracker is an aggregation tool managed by the CTI Exchange consisting of public (defined as accessible without need of a restricted license, account, agreement, or subscription) information gathered through third-party sources or direct solicitation from product developers.
Data Background
CTI Exchange personnel do not solicit, collect, or store information that has not been authorized for public access either directly to the CTI Exchange or through publication in open access websites, print or digital media, clinical trial or patent databases, or scientific journals. Similarly, CTI Exchange personnel will not share – either through the CTI Tracker or in response to direct request – any information on leads or products in the contraceptive pipeline that is not authorized for fully public access. Requests for information of this type will be declined.
Acceptable Use
CTI Tracker content is made available with the primary intention to promote transparency, inform developer and donor strategy, and contribute to a more-robust contraceptive method mix for the global market. As such, the information contained within the CTI Tracker may be used by any person or entity for any legal purpose - commercial, non-commercial, educational - without restriction.
However, the CTI Exchange distinguishes between acceptable use of the information contained within the CTI Tracker and acceptable use of the database as a whole or in substantial part. While the information contained within the CTI Tracker may be used without restriction, the CTI Exchange places the following standards for use of the database as a whole or in substantial part:
- The CTI Tracker cannot be used in the creation of derivative or collective databases.
- The CTI Tracker cannot be used in the creation of temporary or permanent database reproductions in any form.
- The CTI Tracker cannot be used to establish privileged access to contraceptive pipeline information (e.g. the development of a pay-to-access contraceptive pipeline report).
- The CTI Tracker cannot be used to intentionally limit the capacity of any previous, current, or future contraceptive development entity to progress through development and commercialization of their product concept.
- The CTI Tracker cannot be used as a medical reference or to inform patient care.
Attribution
If using the CTI Tracker as a foundational source during the development of reports, presentations, publications, strategies, or resources, users are asked to display the following attribution prominently in the relevant material:
Contraceptive pipeline information sourced from the CTI Tracker, a public aggregation tool for contraceptive R&D information managed by the Contraceptive Technology Innovation (CTI) Exchange. The contents of this [presentation/document] are the sole responsibility of [data user] and do not necessarily reflect the views of the CTI Exchange.

Notice of Non-Endorsement
The CTI Exchange is an independent, third-party information source, and cannot endorse or appear to endorse specific products, product categories, or development entities. If referencing the CTI Tracker for materials that imply or explicitly state an endorsement for specific products or product categories (e.g., investment recommendations), the attribution text above must be placed before the endorsement is made.
By remaining wholly product neutral, the CTI Exchange maintains positive working relationships across the R&D ecosystem. These relationships are essential to the CTI Exchange’s mission and function.
