History
In a study published in 2023, EF-4-177 was shown to decrease sperm counts by about half over the course of 28 day exposure at 10mg/kg, with moderate reductions in body weight growth. Refinement of EF-4-177 and identification of other CDK2 inhibitors with potential as male contraceptive API has continued through 2025.
