History

Choice is founded to develop a mechanical valve that can be placed in the fallopian tube via catheter to be "switched on" when the user wants contraceptive protection and "switched off" when the user wants to become pregnant.

US and EU patents granted for implantable tube valve

In-vitro rabbit testing confirms device stays in place through strong muscle contraction of the reproductive system. Developer indicates that pre-hysterectomy testing in humans is next planned step.

Choice announces intent to conduct additional pre-clinical evaluation throughout 2026 and 2027, with clinical evaluation initiating in 2028. Their clinical plan includes pivotal trials of 400-500 women across 12 hospitals.
