History
2005: Researchers at Bar Ilan University determine that sperm rely in part on 55S mitochondrial ribosomes for protein translation, an essential process for motility and capacity. They conclude that should a drug reliably inhibit these ribosomes, a contraceptive effect could be achieved.
2010: Researchers announce through media sources that preliminary versions of the drug have disrupted sperm motility and capacity in mice.
