How to Use CTI Tracker

Want to optimize your experience with the database? Learn more about how to use CTI Tracker below.

For each entry in CTI Tracker, click on the product name to view its full profile of information. You can explore the database using the search box, search filters and display options:

Search Filters

The search filters allow you to refine your search results based on seven criteria:

  • Male/Female
  • Hormonal/Non-Hormonal
  • Delivery Type
  • Intended Duration
  • Development Stage
  • MPT/Non-MPT
  • Mechanism of Action

All filters are listed on the left side of the CTI Tracker homepage. A description of each filter and its respective categories can be found in the CTI Tracker Glossary. Upon selecting a category/categories under these filters, click the “Apply Filters” button at the bottom of the list to view your results. To remove the filters you've selected, click the "Reset Filters" button.

Display Options

By default, the CTI Tracker homepage displays only products in active development.

However, you have the option to view only “Active” products, only “Inactive” products or “All” products by selecting these options at the very top of the product list. These display options are always available, even while you are conducting searches or applying filters (Please note that after you conduct a search, the database will reset to show "All" products). For an explanation of what qualifies as an active vs. inactive product, see the CTI Tracker Glossary

You also have the option to display products by the date they were “Last Updated” (ascending or descending) or in “Alphabetical” order (ascending or descending). You can select these options using the drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the product list.

Export Options

The .xlsx and .pdf versions of the full database are available for download here:

These files will be updated every three months and the date when they were last updated will be provided in the file names and at the tops of the tables.

The CTI Tracker database has been developed to meet the informational needs of contraceptive researchers. The Tracker is not intended to provide medical advice for patients learning about their contraceptive options (see Disclaimer).
