History
-2017: Animal study results published evaluating impact of vas deferens injection of Vasalgel, a polymer that forms a hydrogel that occludes sperm movement in the body. Vaselgal was an improved formulation of RISUG. Results suggest high contraceptive potential with side effects comparable to vasectomy
Parsemus Foundation licenses Vasalgel to NEXT Life Sciences for further development as Plan A reversible male contraceptive. NEXT launches first-in-human small-scale trial.
NEXT announces intention to pursue additional clinical research in UK, Australia, and New Zealand
NEXT announces completion of North American Phase 1 trial with 20 male volunteers and intent to raise $20M for pivotal clinical trials. In Dec. 2025, NEXT announces their receipt of a US patent for their product.
NEXT announces completion of Phase II trial and initiation of feasibility evaluation
