Daré Bioscience has announced receiving a $2.5 million grant installment to advance the development of its novel contraceptive technology, DARE-LARC1. This funding is part of a larger grant agreement that could total up to $49 million, supporting nonclinical proof of principle studies and other work necessary for an Investigational New Drug (IND) application with the FDA.

DARE-LARC1 is a long-acting, reversible contraceptive (LARC) designed to provide effective contraception for an extended period without daily effort. It features precision dosing, extended device duration, and wireless control, utilizing levonorgestrel, a common ingredient in FDA-approved birth control methods.
