Two Non-Hormonal Male Contraceptives Advance to Phase II Trials
NEXT Life Sciences has announced that two non-hormonal male contraceptive candidates—Plan A™ and NLS‑133—have progressed into Phase II clinical trials. According to the company, Plan A™ is being developed as a long‑acting, reversible, on‑demand contraceptive, while NLS‑133 is an investigational oral pill designed for on‑demand or daily use. Both products are intended to expand contraceptive options beyond existing male methods such as condoms and vasectomy.
The company reports that early feasibility studies for Plan A™ showed successful device performance, and NLS‑133 is now undergoing clinical evaluation focused on semen analysis following dosing. Leadership at NEXT Life Sciences described these developments as part of a broader pipeline of non‑hormonal reproductive health products currently in progress, with CEO, Darlene Walley commenting, “We are thrilled to have two male contraceptives now in clinical trials with promising preliminary results. With a broader pipeline of reproductive and sexual health products in development, NEXT Life Sciences is stepping forward as the leader in non-hormonal, reversible on-demand contraceptive options.”
