80+ Organizations Awarded Funds in $250M Global Women’s Health Initiative
On November 12, 2025, Pivotal and Lever for Change announced more than 80 organizations receiving $1–$5 million each through the Action for Women’s Health global open call. This $250 million initiative, launched by Melinda French Gates as part of her $1 billion commitment to advancing women’s power, aims to address chronic underfunding and inequities in women’s health worldwide.
The awardees—over 65% of which are community-based groups—span regions including West Africa, Central America, and Melanesia. Their work tackles critical women's heath issues, including family planning and health technologies. Selected from over 4,000 applicants across 119 countries, these organizations bring locally driven, scalable solutions to improve women’s well-being at all life stages.
“I want to see women everywhere making decisions, controlling resources, and shaping policies and perspectives—but women can’t do well unless they can be well,” said Melinda French Gates. This funding will help awardees expand their impact and reach millions more women globally.
