Campaign for Darker Contraceptive Patches Gains Momentum

A new campaign on Change.org, titled "Clap Back on the Contraceptive Patch," is calling for the manufacturing of contraceptive patches in multiple skin tones. Currently, the patch is only available in one tone, making it less discreet for users with darker skin. The campaign emphasizes the need for inclusivity in the pharmaceutical industry and aims to ensure that all users can access a contraceptive patch that blends seamlessly with their skin.

Supporters of the campaign argue that this change is long overdue and essential for promoting anti-racism in healthcare. As one health care professional puts it, “This issue extends far beyond that of the contraceptive patch. It's time that we acknowledge that one shade does not fit all and we need to design medication with the needs of all people in mind.”
