NEXT Life Sciences has announced the launch of clinical trials for Plan A™, a long-lasting, reversible, and hormone-free male contraceptive. The trials, set to begin in Australia on March 24, 2025, mark a significant step forward for Plan A™, a product that utilizes a proprietary hydrogel that filters out sperm for up to 10 years, offering men a reliable and convenient contraceptive option. The clinical trials are supported by the Male Contraceptive Initiative (MCI), which has provided additional funding to advance the development of Plan A™.

In a recent episode of the Healthcare Strategies podcast, Dr. Walley, CEO of NEXT Life Sciences, discussed the science behind Plan A™ and its potential to transform reproductive health choices for men. Unlike traditional female contraceptives, Plan A™ does not rely on hormonal manipulation. Instead, it employs Vasalgel, a high molecular weight polymer that forms a semi-solid barrier in the vas deferens, blocking sperm while allowing the passage of seminal fluids.
